My creativity evolves around abstract geometric constructions. Juggling with shapes, colours and textures has become my playfield. The essence of my acrylic paint artworks focuses on finding harmonious minimalist combinations while opting for a limited colour palette using 3 essential shades.
My work is bold, clean and crisp. A perfectionist at heart, each line or brushstroke is done with meticulous care and precision. Signature dot work is often an integral element on my paintings.

This series is related to a specific format. I work on canvas-coated board, with a white passe-partout and frame. Acrylic paint, mixed media using thick gesso for the textured elements, and more often than not signature background dot work in the darker elements. The artworks can be showcased with or without the glass depending on your own preferences.

My latest series "Between heaven and earth", is a conscious break away from my more obvious geometrical and structured contemporary paintings but still highlights my love of colour and the possibility to mix and blend these together. In this collection, I have chosen to recall elements of the world around us... the sky, seascapes, landscapes etc and hope that I will capture the viewer's attention and spark his imagination and own emotions.

Biography
Sylvie Hamou is a contemporary artist based in Switzerland. Hamou lived in France as an adult before settling in Switzerland. She was born and raised in New Zealand. Hamou's minimalist approach to geometric constructivism and abstraction is influenced by this cosmopolitan mix of cultures.
Her desire of harmony and balance as well as her sensitivity to color serve as the inspiration for her unique abstract work. Working primarily with acrylic, she chooses a small color palette and freely experiments with textures made of sand, gesso, and natural fibers as well as her trademark dot work.
Sylvie Hamou was born in 1959, in New Zealand. She exhibited her works in Switzerland, France, the USA, UK, Italy and Japan. Hamou’s art was displayed at the Grand Palais in Paris and the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum in Japan. Her works are in private collections worldwide.

Some exciting artistic adventures for me this year...
I will be one of 29 international artists invited to participate in Open Art Code exhibitions in conjunction with an Independent Artist Association. Open Art Code is a prestigious, international art group based in Florence, Italy. The group participates in top exhibitions around the world and membership is by invitation only. I have accepted the invitation to join the group in 2016. Exhibit locations include Venice, Monaco, Tokyo, the Grand Palace in Paris, Tuscany and Florence. Feeling excited !!

Une intensité chromatique de tout les instants , bravo à vous pour cette réalisation abstraite de qualité, mes sincères encouragements.
La peinture n'est pas explicable mais elle se contemple et c'est son seul bût et ne verse pas dans un certain intellectualisme , laissons aux littéraires le soin de prendre cette option .
