Badshahi mosque is one of the few significant architectural monuments built during Emperor Aurangzeb's long rule from 1658 to 1707. Although it was built late in the Mughal era in a period of relative decline, its beauty, elegance, and scale epitomize Mughal cultural achievement like no other monument in Lahore, Pakistan. The design and architecture of Badshahi Mosque was inspired by Islamic, Central Asian, Persian, and Indian architectural designs. The design of Badshahi Mosque is nearly similar to Jama Mosque of Delhi which was constructed by Aurangzeb Alamgir’s father Emperor Shah Jahan in 1648 A.D. The mosque is an important example of Mughal architecture, with an exterior that is decorated with carved red sandstone with marble inlay. This painting is painted with vivid colors focusing mainly on the effect of strokes and colors. The foreground is inspired by river ravi as the mosque was built along the edge of the Ravi river. At the time of its construction, historic references tell that, Mughal Emperor Alamgir Aurangzeb ordered to place barriers at one point in the river so that the water does not flow close to the mosque and the mosque doesn’t get damaged. So with the passage of time, due the barriers inside the river, the river changed its bed and now we see River Ravi flowing far away. The painting is meant to bring faith, light and joy as you look at it and remember the blessings of Allah.

The world around me felt so mundane, always on the go and every day felt the same. Art was what filled my life with color; it was like time would stop, as I had finally unlocked the hidden beauty of the world with a stroke of a brush.I am Muhammad Suleman Rehman a Pakistani Aritst. Started this work officially when I was in my o'levels. I believe we all create art for ourselves whether it’s a painting or sketch. I started it to become more myself but I faced many circumstances.
People don’t understand the fact that it is very difficult to remain dedicated to your true vision. Sometimes it’s very hard to ignore opinions of others or family. It doesn't feel good to be judged, especially when someone doesn't know your story. How would you know their everyday struggle? The world today is very competitive and it's very hard to reach our goals but I hope we all make it. You just need look at yourself you are doing much better than you were doing in your past. It’s all about doing what you love to do and one day you will see the best version of yourself, the way just I did.
One of the famous artist inspired me! This quote took my heart away to become an artist. "I am seeking, I am striving, I am in it with all my heart" Vincent Van Gogh
