18”x24”" Acrylic on canvas. dated 2019.
The artwork is an abstract composition with bold, contrasting shapes and colors. It includes a circular motif on the left side, enclosed within concentric rings of black, blue, and pale green. A rectangular shape is positioned vertically within the circle. There are several curved and linear elements, including a series of pink loops crossing the middle of the canvas. The background features shades of blue, while black shapes and outlines create dynamic forms throughout the piece. Various geometric patterns contribute to the overall abstraction, adding depth and interest.
'Spring Loaded’ is constituted of gray blue hues, white and black shapes and orange accents, composed in acrylic paint. This technique takes from abstract expressionism. Throughout his painting, Stephen uses the colors of his imagination and the guidance of his true self.
