Stephen Grossman is a contemporary visual artist based in New Haven, CT, renowned for his versatile talents spanning sculpture, drawing, and painting. With a background in architecture, he earned his Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) degree from The Cooper Union in 1986, setting the stage for a career that seamlessly integrates his architectural knowledge into his artistic expression.

Grossman's artistic oeuvre is characterized by a profound exploration of architectural space in relation to the intricate movements of the human body. His work delves into the intricate interplay between form and function, resulting in a body of work that resonates deeply with viewers.

Over the years, Stephen Grossman's art has graced the walls of prestigious institutions and galleries, including The Drawing Center, Aldrich Museum, Real Art Ways, Artspace New Haven, New York Studio School Dumbo Sculpture Studio, Weir Farm Trust Gallery, Schweinfurth Art Center, Mt Ida College, Giampietro Gallery, Kenise Barnes Fine Arts, and numerous other venues. His exhibitions have consistently showcased his unique artistic vision and mastery of various mediums.

In recognition of his exceptional talent, Stephen Grossman was selected as an artist in residence at the esteemed Ballinglen Foundation in 2023, a testament to his commitment to advancing his craft and engaging in meaningful artistic exploration. In 2020, he enjoyed a residency at Streamways in Rockingham, VT, further cementing his reputation as an artist of great distinction.

In 2006, Grossman's artistic prowess was acknowledged when he assumed the role of visiting artist at the Weir Farm Historic Trust, where he undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the artistic community. His dedication to the public arts was further exemplified in 2002 when he was awarded a prestigious grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for his remarkable public art project, "Fencing." In addition to his thriving art practice, Stephen Grossman has generously shared his knowledge and expertise by teaching visual arts at The University of New Haven and Southern Connecticut State University.
