Šarūnas Šarkauskas is a contemporary Lithuanian artist. The genres of landscape, still life and figurative composition are most developed in his creative work. Šarkauskas' paintings are bursting with colors, invite to indulge bright, contrasting combinations and radiate a plentiful stream of joy. The author, in his figurative compositions creates an unique spectacle, where perspective of the space is ignored, and ironically presented human (mostly female) beings tell everyday life stories. Everyday life is poeticized by means of colors, texture and composition, therefore it acquires an archetypal dimension and philosophical meaning. 

Šarūnas Šarkauskas was born in 1967 in Lithuania. Since 1991 he has been participating in personal and group exhibitions. Šarkauskas works are well known to art lovers in Lithuania and beyond.
