When I was a girl, I took art classes
with Barbara G. Pound. My favorite class
assignment was to paint what I felt when
I read Haiku. That led me to write poetry.
Poetry led to black and white photography
and being enraptured with light.
A career in Black and white portraits
led me to painting portraits. Now I want to
branch out into painting other things -
landscapes, still-life, dogs, feelings;
but always I will love the intense challenge
of painting portraits which capture not only
the look of the person, but also their spirit.
