Sandrine Levallois
French born, self taught artist, Sandrine Levallois is
fascinated by the human form and the unusual
combination of mediums. She uses watercolours and various
techniques to create visual imagery.
Being self taught has freed her creative
inspiration apart from typical academic
learning.
As a youth, she rejected learning structures,
fearing to stereotype her Art, concerned that
her young mind would be too influenced by
the teaching to create her own avenues.
Her philosophy was to find herself and her
creative style before studying, so, she set out
to travel the world, immersing herself into
other cultures, sense of colours, Art and
philosophies.
Australia has been a major turning point in her
life. Falling in love with the land and its people,
she adopted this country as her new home.
From then on, she decided to focus on what
was important to her...Her passion for creating.
She has since enrolled in courses, sketch
club, and a diploma of graphic Art, as well as
countless hours of personal practice to
improve her technique.
For the past 8 years, she has devoted her
time toward her passion and goal to be a full
time artist and explore her ideas further.
Her subjects are primarily feminine characters
reflecting her emotional scenery. Her painting
are an exploration of her inner landscape with
her own sense of expression

"Travelling has awakened my love for patterns and
textures.
I now, look at life through textured, patterned
goggles!!!
The richness of a material, the intensity of its colour,
makes me vibrate .
My other love is the human body, its landscape are
always a marvel and a discovery to my eyes. Every
fold is a world of its own and a pleasure stroke...
The sensuality of a muscle and a limb, its curves,
touches me as a courting lover would.
The aim is to combine theses into a world of fantasy ,
where the characters live free and unburden by
everyday life, like the essence of our deepest
wish..........................."
