Max Ernst: „Nicht die Natur zu schaffen, sondern mit der Natur zu schaffen.“ Diese moderne Kunstauffassung ist die große Errungenschaft der Romantik. „Die Romantik mit ihrer Klärung der Dichotomie zwischen der Innenwelt des Menschen und seiner Außenwelt, also dem, was er als Wirklichkeit erlebt, ist das 20. Jahrhundert. Und hier behaupte ich, dass die lyrische Abstraktion die Romantik weiter entwickelt hat.

Verweigern und Durchdringen

Sabine Hartmann: „Das Malen auf Metall ist für mich in folgender Hinsicht einzigartig:

„Über die glatte Metalloberfläche gleitet der Pinsel ohne Widerstand und durch die Spiegelung des Metalls ergeben sich Farbvariationen je nach Beleuchtung bei transparentem Farbauftrag. Die Chinatusche bietet mir dazu ein perfektes Schwarz.“

 

Betrachtet man sich die Technik Ihrer Malerei, fällt auf, dass sie in ihren Bildern meisterlich mit dem Unterschied der Farbmittel arbeitet. In ihren Bildern ist das Ferne so luzide, von Licht durchdrungen, das Nahe so sehr massiv, monolithisch.

Überhaupt ist Sabine Hartmann in ihrer Farbigkeit eine ausgewiesene Vertreterin mediterraner Malerei. Fast alle ihre Bilder haben ein ursprünglich klares, fast stechendes Licht, das verwandte Rot oder Blau ist fast nie gedämpft, ohne jedoch dass die Bilder jenes wichtige Geheimnisvolle verlieren.

Dagegen blockt in „Autre rives“ – das andere Ufer – ein sattes Schwarz den Blick hindurch und lässt die Farbfelder wie kleine Fenster wirken.

 

Es gibt viele Künstlerinnen und Künstler, die die lyrische Abstraktion wegen der innerwohnenden Musikalität) weitergeführt haben. Ich kenne aber persönlich keinen Künstler, der die formalen Grundzüge dieser Stilrichtung so zeitgenössisch aufgefasst wie traditionell verwendet so durchhält wie Sabine Hartmann. Das führt bei mir zum Eindruck, dass diese Bilder schon vor 70 Jahren, heute – oder in 70 Jahren hätten entstanden sein können. Ich halte das für eine einzigartige künstlerische Position.
