Robin CASTEX is an Industrial Designer born on February 6, 1987 in the south of France.
Perceived from an early age as a person with high potential, he will create hisown atypical career, marked by a quest for limits and a commitment whetherphysical, intellectual or artistic. These two postulates will thus shape hispractice.
The American universe of the 60s and 70s is one of the major influences of Robin Castex, claims, wealth of influences, artistic and political positioning, hiswork is marked by this period.
His approach is always much more practical than theoretical, he is passionate about mechanics, motorcycles and exotic cars and goes on to study mechanical engineering.
At the same time, BMX becomes a passion.
He then turned to product design in a classic course in design, prototyping and other industrial universes, particularly in the field of aeronautics.
He turned professional in BMX, which allowed him to travel and broaden hishorizons.
After a stay in Switzerland as a specialist in metal machining, he moved to France and worked as a design and industrialization engineer in the field of fitting out VIP aircraft.
Once the mathematical and industrial side of his work has been explored, one thing becomes obvious. Make the link between industry, creation, expression, art, shapes, textures and colors.
Robin Castex finds his place in the underground universe, Surf, BMX and rubsshoulders with street artists and street performers.
His creation is very marked by this desire for freedom which is not a simple postulate but an Art of Living where everyone is able to express their ownidentity. “Be yourself”
I therefore want to produce objects that are aesthetic or not, useful or not, functional or not, but many unique, non-conforming objects that open up the realm of possibilities and allow everyone to appropriate the creation and mark the daily.
