Robert Cadiere is a contemporary French painter born in 1951 in Toulon, VAR, France. Known for his masculine and geometric style, his paintings exhibit a mastery of gesture and a keen graphic sensibility. Cadiere's artistic journey took a transformative turn in 1975 when he met Eugène Baboulène, an iconic Provençal painter, who introduced him to the world of painting.

In 2008, a stroll through the highly urbanized district of La Défense in Paris profoundly influenced Cadiere. The industrial and urban environment, characterized by the perspective of buildings and the alignment of glass facades, deeply resonated with him. He began incorporating these elements into his work, enjoying the material aspects and creating patterns on the canvas frame using coatings and various papers that he glued and layered.

Cadiere's visits to New York in 2015 and 2018 further enriched his artistic perspective. The city's blend of old and new, industrial and urban, inspired his NYC series, which is vibrant in color and poetically urban.

In late 2018, Cadiere moved from Toulon to Nice, in the Alpes Maritimes. Today, his technique has evolved into a mixed media approach, where the material intensifies and thickens, and his color palette often narrows to monochrome. His subjects have gradually simplified, allowing more room for interpretation as he continues to explore abstraction in his work.
