JOURNEYS OF LIFE (2017) 미술작품 Reny Gab 로

There is a figure on the painting which is deciding on which direction to take in their life.
The body is inclined to the right side of the painting, i.e. towards to the spiral staircase, which depicts one type of the way the person can take. The goal of this road is the dream of the person which the person would like to reach. But the road is difficult. There are stones in front of the staircase and the person needs a lot of courage to overcome these stones. Then the person gets to the first step which is the highest as the beginnings are always difficult and you need strength to overcome the beginning and continue in your journey. The further steps which continue to the spiral staircase are all the same and straight as the person in this phase is already in a move and things get easier. But still, the staircase goes up which means that it is not very easy. Then we get to the spiral staircase where we need hard work, patience and purposefulness in order to get higher and closer to our goal. There we get to the height which brings us closer to the goal and the first results are being shown which are expressed by the buds and little blooming roses. If we manage to cope with this journey, we get to the top of it, which is our goal. There are the big roses in full bloom waiting for us.
But the head is heading towards the left side of the painting where there is a different possibility of the journey. There is a wooden raft waiting on a calm still water. You can get there by walking on the grass and ground. While walking this way, the person can enjoy the beauties of its surrounding but there is nothing the person had dreamed about which is depicted by a weeping willow. Even though this life journey is not simple, this direction expresses a simpler alternative and we just pass the life.
There is a wooden bridge behind the person surrounded by high rocks ending with a gate. This expressed the person has already walked through one chapter of their life. The person decided to close this chapter and there is no way back which is depicted by a locked gate. This journey, the person has walked through, is depicted by a wooden church as the wood does not last forever as well as this life direction the person was heading. But still it is the bridge which leads the person and opens the door to other journeys. The rocks around it express the fact that even this journey was not easy but it has provided a solid and stable foundation for the future.
I would like to express with this painting that everyone is a master of their happiness and it is only up
to us which journey we take.
