Thierry Corpet, alias Raymond X is a contemporary French painter and sculptor. Corpet creates mysterious visual poems and invents little stories. He deconstructs the images and amalgamates the shapes, using William Burroughs' cut-up technique, then recomposes, recycles, and reincarnates them, all of this to account for the cycle of life. He tries out a variety of graphic techniques in which shapes and materials interact and are layered to attest to his worldview. He began using new materials in his work in 2019 and began creating miniature sculptures, assembly of painted wood, totems between abstraction and figuration.

His canvases, like his sculptures, testify to the total of products and things that we gather, deliberately or unconsciously, in our brains, like so many closets full with outdated life fragments.

Thierry Corpet was born in 1965, in France. He is a nationally known artist and was exhibited all over France.
