Rachael Chandler, a native of Connecticut, has worked as a Veterinary Technician for 17+ years. For as long as Rachael has been a veterinary technician and artist, her love of animals and their form has been her primary focus. She painted her first animal portrait in 1989 and it is represented in her logo to this day. She painted this portrait for a friend who wanted to remember her pet, Spirit, in happier times. Rachael used a piece of cardboard from a radiograph film box she found at work to provide the canvas and paint by number paints for her first portrait of Spirit and her career in art started. This was the first portrait Rachael had painted for anyone.
This first painting was done, while Rachael's mother added her insight and guidance to her work. Although Rachael's mother is not with her anymore, Rachael continues to use her mother's guidance in her paintings. Rachael has been producing portraits for clients at the veterinary office where she works and saw that her work brought pleasure to those who missed their pets and joy to those who still had their pets with them. Rachael's love for animals and painting comes through in her portraits. She hopes everyone enjoys her art as much as she enjoys producing it.
