My main inspiration for this artwork were paintings of the Dutch masters of the 17th century often depicting still lifes and flowers on a dark background. I wanted to create the same “misty” mood along with making these decorative flowers fit the modern interior. I used different oil painting techniques to make them look realistic and vivid at the same time.
This artwork is made with oil on hand-primed linen canvas, coated with satin varnish for bright colors and clear permanent protection for years.
The sides of the canvas are painted with burgundy color so it is possible to hang the painting without a frame.
One of a kind artwork
Size: 92 x 70 cm
