chaplin *** Pour les besoins du film, Charlie Chaplin avait demandé à ce qu'on lui ramène des bâtards affamés parce qu'ils les trouvaient drôle lorsqu'ils mangeaient. Ainsi son assistant Vernsky devait se débrouiller pour trouver LE chien. Suite des recherches infructueuses dans les rues de Los Angeles, Vernsky pris un camion est ramena 21 chiens de la fourrière, mais suite à une plainte du voisinage les autorités lui imposèrent de n'en garder que 12. Parmi eux, Scrap, un petit chien blanc croisé fox-terrier dont le vrai nom fut Mut. Charlie s'était forcé de se lier d'amitié avec lui afin que cette amitié puisse apparaître comme évidente face aux caméras. Il passe donc son temps à le cajoler mais lors du dernier jours du tournage Charlie abandonna Mut. Une histoire bien triste, car malgré tout l'attention du personnel du studio envers Mut, celui-ci se laissera mourir, le coeur brisé par ce qu'il avait cru une affection sincère.****
Pascal Buffard, painter and photographer, was born in 1961. His passion for art led him to take advertising and visual communication courses at EMSAT in Paris, where he acquired essential skills in the field. artistic. Currently, he lives and works in Charenton-le-Pont, but it is in Charente-Maritime, his homeland, that he mainly exhibits.
His artistic work addresses current issues with a critical eye, sometimes tinged with scathing humor. He explores themes such as overpopulation, wealth sharing, reality shows and disinformation through his series “Regards”. The big eyes present in his works actually symbolize cameras, highlighting the notion of seeing and being seen, as well as the issues of surveillance and voyeurism that characterize our modern society.
Pascal prefers to work in oil, using the technique of solvent removal for his abstractions.
