Irina Safronova, alias Palirina, is a contemporary Belarusian artist. She is an environmentalist who uses collage, assemblage, and mixed media to explore issues including ecology, cutting-edge technology, and the future direction of man. As an environmentalist, she reduces the amount of waste produced throughout the creative process. Palirina repurposes all possible leftovers, including hard-to-recycle microelectronic bits, into the elements of new artworks. As an author, she values harmony and a sense of aesthetic balance in her works.
