I was born near Valenciennes in the North of France in 1984, my artist name is OVIRI, this word means wild in Polynesian. I chose this name because when I started painting in 2004, when I was 20, I was passionate about Paul Gauguin, his painting and his travels... I dreamed of elsewhere, of the wild.

After studying drawing and the different painting techniques in Belgium at the Saint Luc Institute in Tournai, I began to paint in the manner of solitary painters such as Van Gogh, Derain, Gauguin: on the motif, oil painting, on linen canvas with vibrant colors.

The Breton coasts as a landscape in recent years, at the edge of the cliffs, in secret coves, isolated beaches, in wild places ... My travels help me convey the subtlety of seaside lights and its infinite palette of colors.
