The inspiration for this artwork was the memories of my trip to Malta. I made many sketches on the coast, among the narrow streets of the old city, near the walls of medieval castles, and in market squares. Later, in my studio, I immersed myself in memories of this time and gradually transformed my impressions into images on canvas. I used vibrant colors and energetic strokes to reflect the variegated colors of this island. The combination of warm colors, pure yellow, orange, red and graphic elements, circular lines made my composition really expressive. This artwork literally breathes with the coastline, stairs, old buildings, many signs, and the Maltese air.
