Ecole Universelle (2017) Collages by Nathalie Tellier

I was born in Touraine, I live and work in Paris. After studying Anglo-Saxon literature, I took painting and drawing lessons at the Beaux-Arts workshops in Paris.

Little by little, I turned to collage.

The starting point of my artistic approach is the paper. Pages and photos collected, handwritten correspondence unearthed, old invoices gleaned here and there.

I tear, cut, divert, stack until the unexpected happens; until you find a balance. Color is often added to enhance an element. The result is a sometimes surreal mille-feuille juxtaposing elements assembled at random, like an automatic handwriting or an exquisite corpse.
