This painting was born from the simple yet meditative act of observing the view from my window. Right in front of my workspace stands a graceful weeping birch — a tree that beautifully balances strength and fragility. I often watch its long, flowing branches sway gently in the wind, cascading like a mermaid’s hair. This quiet, everyday scene filled me with a sense of peace, stillness, and a connection to the rhythm of nature.
To bring this image to life, I chose the impasto technique, working with a palette knife. The thick texture of the paint and the expressive relief of the surface allow me to convey the movement of the branches, the texture of the leaves, and the overall feeling of presence. The tactile quality invites not only visual perception but also an emotional and almost physical connection with the scene.
