He sits quietly... and waits. He waits for the days work to begin...for the ride out to the fields...where the mind-numbing work of the "cotton picker" is forever waiting.
He waits for the foreman to yell "quit'n time"..and once again..he can come home to rest his weary bones. And...as the hours tick past..and the lantern burns low...he waits...for the inevitable.
