Biography:
Mirinho. Pernambucano de Belo Jardim, where he was born in 1942. Our artist only debuted in Rio de Janeiro in 1981, participating in the Tijuca Art Salon. From then on, with a lot of work, dedication and talent, he gradually gained his place in the sun, with a growing sequence of successes, participating in 1982 in the Maricá Painting Salon. Wins the Acquisition Prize of the Salão de Valores de Rio de Janeiro in 1982. In 1983 - a highly productive year - participates in the group shows held at Forte São João, promoted by the Escola Nacional de Artes; Marinhas, organized by the Brazilian Society of Fine Arts; the Valença Arts Salon; the Itaboraí Arts Hall; and the Hall of the Hotel Nacional - Rio. In the same year, he won the “Silver Medal” in a painting contest held by the Municipality of Maricá; "Honorable Mention" in the Resende City Hall painting contest; “Bronze Medal” XI Miniature Show in Rio de Janeiro; and “Acquisition Award” on display at Rio Othon Palace Hotel. The artistic “Curriculum” of “mirinho” grows in 1984 with six new awards: “Bronze Medal” in the Painting competition of the Municipality of Maricá - RJ, where he was already known; ”Acquisition Award” obtained in an individual held at Citybank; “Acquisition Award” - in a collective of Caixa Econômica Federal; ” Acquisition Award ”at a press conference of the Yacht Club of Rio de Janeiro; and “Acquisition Award” - Collective of Caixa Económica Federal; “Bronze Medal '- Painting competition at Marina Barra Clube –RJ. New PrIpanemaémios he obtained in 1985, highlighting the “Acquisition Award” - SEARS art gallery. Cataloged in the dictionary of the Best Painters in Brazil; The book's author is João Medeiros. From there, his paintings take on the world, bought by private collectors from the United States, Portugal, France, Puerto Rico, Japan, England, Germany, Argentina, Spain, Bolivia, Mexico, Holland, Sweden, Italy, Poland, Greece and Peru.

Critical evaluation
In fact, the “Mirinho” canvases are not pure academic reproductions of soft landscapes, they are much more, as they bring, in their core, a lot of personal, of their own, of unusual. In his pictorial language, never aggressiveness, the dark side of a distorted view of the landscape. Everything is literally real, with beauty and enviable chromatic freedom. Painting, for “Mirinho” is a resource that he has no intention of renewing or questioning. Always formal, although never in opposition to what he admits and respects. It is true that, in terms of artistic taste, it seems indisputable that the preference for a given trend quickly succeeds the predilection for the opposite trend. This does not happen with our artist because, in the current variety of techniques and trends, the observer believes more in the picture he sees and understands, not just relying on the proposition or the process.
