Mihaela-Sonia Enache
An artist has to stay productive and true to his vision, always learn and improve, maintaining a level of originality in his artworks.
Contemporary artist Sonia Enache, who was born in Bucharest in 1987, focuses on the dynamic interaction between figuration and abstraction. Her striking compositions challenge viewers' perceptions and inspire introspection.
Before enrolling at the University of Arts, Enache studied humanities and foreign languages. Her artistic journey started when a family member saw her emotive interest in art and its unfulfilled potential and encouraged her to explore many artists’ works and pursue an Art-related degree. Enache's works from 2007 to 2013 were trials and explorations and contributed to her graduation from the University of Arts and Design in Bucharest(2010-2013). During that time, she painted psycho-cubist portraits and abstract paintings and learned how to work with various mediums like oil colors, pastels, acrylics, and watercolors.
The seven years after marked a time in her life when her artistic output suffered due to existential challenges in her personal life. The challenges, over time, became the catalyst for an emergent style and shaped her relationship with expression through art. Later, she focused more on defining a personal style by exploring various painting techniques and themes, such as Humanity, Feminism, Introspection, the Beauty and Ugly Anthitesis, Psycho Cubism, Identity, and Emotions(2020-2023).
By making the significant decision to transition to oil painting in 2024, Enache considerably enhanced her language of expression with a new series titled "Escapes into the Vivid." In this dramatic, new, emergent style, burnt Siena tones fiercely distributed on canvas seem to radiate an almost palpable warmth and light, creating a dreamlike environment. Explored themes: Dream Worlds and Surrealism, Interconnectedness, Nature, Distortion, Contrasts, Illusion, Color and Mood, Fantasy, Mistery, Light and Dark Anthitesis, Symbolism.

Tranquility
Tranquility
Like a forgetful breeze
Quiet times.
Our minds feel at ease
Sometimes.
Like roots underground
Quiet days.
Old memories refound,
Sundays.
Like a secluded place,
Quiet nights.
Stars rustling in space,
Dimming lights.
Like an autumn sunrise,
Quiet nights.
Purple waves in the sky,
Wednesdays.

About Sources of Inspiration
I am always searching for inspiration.
Collecting and mixing up the impressions gathered into the creative drawer are part of the road which link a vague idea to a broad vision.
But what is the inspiration?
It is creative enthusiasm, drive, that “something” artists need to compose or to build a bridge between thought and artwork. It is just an ingredient, one cannot make the artwork come to life by simply being inspired, without active effort on the execution of the work. Inspiration can be a momentary outset that evolves into a trance of ideas or a form of mind mapping.
The inspiration is useful in everyday life and not only as an ingredient into the completion of an artwork. However, each person resonates with something else, inspiration is not a universal recipe.
In my case, it always appears in response to a mental conflict in the subconscious. For example, I found solutions to some ideas only after a long time, in an unforseen moment, after a sedimentation of questions and impressions accumulated over time.
I am often looking for inspiration. I am happy to find it quickly, after seeking it on rusted roads, in the roofs of the houses, on noisy mornings, on a bench in the park or in the shape of a tree.
Sometimes I see it in the creativity of others or in a spontaneous gesture, on the face of a stranger, in a dry rose, on the walls of an old house or in the ever-changing shade of the sky.
