At the time the west was homesteaded, land was readily available. Along the front range of Colorado, most of that land was settled for ranching and farming. The settlers endured many a hardship to find the place where they could fulfill their dreams. Homesteads were occupied by large families and the homesteads were handed down[...]

At the time the west was homesteaded, land was readily available. Along the front range of Colorado, most of that land was settled for ranching and farming. The settlers endured many a hardship to find the place where they could fulfill their dreams. Homesteads were occupied by large families and the homesteads were handed down to members who could continue to run the farm or ranch. But, as the west expanded with urban sprawl, members were forced to sell their land. Other families died out and the land and buildings were left to stand as discarded history. In this image, this home was forced out by chain store expansion and moved to another location for disposition. The plan was to move and restore the home. But, the plan fell through and dreams fell idle for the 2nd time. Demolition will certainly lay claim.
