Une petite mésange régulièrement observé aux mangeoires en Europe, elle aime la compagnie des autres mésanges, comme la mésange charbonnière ou la mésange bleue... en tout cas, si vous apercevez l'une ou l'autre, ouvrez l'œil car la mésange nonnette n'est peut-être pas très loin. Elle est cependant moins grégaire que ces autres oiseaux (nettement moins grégaire que la mésange à longue queue)
Cette petite nonnette est un de ces oiseaux des jardins dont l'aide alimentaire représentée par nos mangeoires bénéficie incontestablement à leur survie hivernale. Cependant la dégradation de notre environnement entraînent une diminution inquiétante des effectifs.
Ce petit oiseau fait preuve de curiosité et elle est donc assez facilement observable. Moins territorial que le rouge-gorge et moins fière que notre magnifique merle européen, elle reste d’une compagnie indéniable pour le jardinnage hivernal !
A noter également, les spécialistes indiquent que les couples sont stables : la saison des amours vers février-mars va permettre aux mâles et femelles d’un an former un couple et ils resteront ensemble à vie. Ainsi, même si elles fréquentent socialement les autres nonnettes, elles restent en ensemble même en automne et en hiver. SI vous apercevez une nonnette, une autre doit être à proximité ! C’est un magnifique petit oiseau, sédentaire, il reste à proximité de son terroitoire toute l’année. Si elle nichent surtout en forêt de hêtres de chênes, elle peut aussi nicher dans les forêts mixtes, les zones boisées le long des cours d'eau, les parcelles d'aulnes, les terres agricoles bien pourvues en arbres, les vergers et parfois les parcs… Elle peut donc nicher non loin de chez vous et si elle vient se nourrir à votre mangeoire, alors dites vous bien qu’elle vous connaît tout autant que les personnes habitant la maison voisine de la votre, l’appartement voisin du vôtre.
