Luis Sevillano (Salamanca, 1944) is a Spanish painter and printmaker known for his expressive realism and deep sensitivity to light and texture. After moving to Barcelona in 1965, he studied at the Escola de la Llotja, the Conservatory of Book Arts, and the International School of Mural Painting in Sant Cugat del Vallès. In 1985, he settled in Madrid, where he continues to develop his artistic career.
Throughout his career, Sevillano has held numerous solo exhibitions in cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, and Pamplona. Notable among his work are his mural interventions, including those created in the Church of San Hipólito in Alquézar (Huesca) in 1987. His work has earned several awards, including the Luis Rosal Prize, the Josep Mompou Prize at Sala Parés in Barcelona, and First Prize at the 3rd “Villa de Campo de Criptana” Drawing Contest in 1998.
His art has also been acquired by prestigious institutions such as the Cabinet of Drawings and Prints of the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya and the Print Cabinet of the National Library of Spain, securing his place in the Spanish contemporary art scene.
