Luis Manuel Ruiz, compositor, escritor y pintor, nace en Almonaster la Real (Huelva) el 7 de Junio de 1.964. Ha compuesto canciones para muchos artistas del panorama internacional y ha desarrollado a su vez una carrera como cantautor de sus propios temas.

Con el pseudónimo de Luis de Gilmarquez ha publicado tres libros de relatos cortos.

En relación con la pintura, Luis Manuel Ruiz crea “El hombre en las nubes” como personaje central de gran parte de su obra.

“El hombre en las nubes” se muestra en diferentes paisajes, técnicas y texturas, siempre series limitadas, símbolo de superación y adaptación a la vida y sus diferentes etapas.

Una primera etapa en la que “El hombre en las nubes” aparece con cuerdas atado al Universo…

…una segunda de cuadros collage compuesta con el reciclado de otros cuadros mostrando un “Hombre en las nubes” más colorista y desprovisto ya de las ataduras en su mayor parte. Es la serie que el autor ha denominado “RECICLADO”.

En tinta, en la serie “NEGRO SOBRE BLANCO”, “El hombre en las nubes” aparece integrado en lo social y una de las obras de esta serie es la portada del disco de Luis Manuel Ruiz titulado “INTACTO”.

En la serie “DESORDENADO”, “El hombre en las nubes” adopta otras identidades a partir de su figura descompuesta y recompuesta por el autor, para dar esa pincelada de que los grandes cambios son los de uno mismo.

De esta manera, “El hombre en las nubes” ya liberados de supuestas circunstancias ocupa personajes y objetos sin alterar su anatomía original.
