Les "ANDROGRAPHIES" . Le corps synthétique . Réalité et subjectivité.

Mes "Andrographies" sont envisagées comme des objets manufacturés. Numérotées, elles intègrent des notions de quantité et de qualité.
Les formes anatomiques qui les composent favorisent, par leur libre interprétation, l'émergence d'une image, associant ma vision subjective du corps à de multiples variations graphiques. Ces réalisations sont descriptives et schématiques. Elles tendent à définir les contours d'une morphologie débarrassée de toutes convenances. Face au réel, ce choix pictural trouve sa finalité dans une figuration au dessin déstructuré. Mon thème de prédilection est la représentation stylisée du corps, ancrée dans un souci constant de simplification. Un trait noir, omniprésent, limite les formes et peut, par analogie, s'apparenter à une calligraphie. Les entrelacs et les ondulations, donnent à ce champ graphique, une impression de "désordre organisé".
Dans cette perspective, le mouvement, le corps et l'objet, échappent à l'instauration d'un attrait consensuel. Mon registre pictural résulte d'une mémorisation, consciente ou inconsciente, de réminiscences plastiques et stylistiques qui s'inscrivent dans une synthèse entre dessin et peinture. Ces constructions graphiques reposent donc inévitablement sur les vestiges de ma mémoire. En art, la subjectivité du regard rend l'observation fugitive. Elle bouleverse la lisière des contours. Cette extension de réalité joue, de façon fortuite, un rôle déterminant dans les "péripéties" de mes créations. Des compositions, aux formes rythmées par "tressage", s'affichent à la limite du raisonnable. Elles cristallisent, sur mon parcours, la quête d'une image idéale, usant de distorsions puisées dans une variété infinie de formes. L'anatomie devient alors pour moi, un "langage", une allusion au corps en mouvement et la structure évocatrice d'un dehors aseptisé. Dans cet esprit, ma technique d'exécution, à la fois sobre et précise, expose mes peintures à une lisibilité appuyée. Malgré mon insistance à vouloir faire le même tableau, j'obtiens toujours "autre chose", une image parallèle, une autre projection. Ce processus d'élaboration, m'engage à mieux utiliser mes intuitions pour en faire une substance nouvelle: une "ANDROGRAPHIE".

Technic Drawing

Drawing is a technique of visual representation on a flat support. The term "drawing" designates both the action of drawing, the resulting graphic work, and the shape of any object. It is also a representation on a surface of the shape (and possibly the light and shadow values) of an object or figure, rather than their color. There are a large number of drawing techniques: “Linear drawing” represents objects by their outlines, edges and some characteristic lines; beyond this limit, the drawing develops by representing the volume by shadows, often by means of hatching, incorporates colors, and joins, without clear transition, the painting.

Lucien Ségura

France

Born in 1952 in Fez, Morocco, Lucien Ségura lives and works in Midi-Pyrénées, France. Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Tarbes and at the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Limoges, where he studied in the studio of Claude Viallat, Lucien Ségura distinguished himself as a figurative painter with an original and evolving career. .

Mainly using acrylic on linen and marker on paper, Ségura explores varied styles such as fauvism, figurative and cubism. His predilection for the descriptive representation of the human body through variations of the pictorial figure led him to increase research and favor graphic experiments. The quest for an “ideal image” constitutes the heart of his artistic work.

To achieve this ideal, Lucien Ségura relies on improvisation and interpretation, employing elaborate or elementary techniques to achieve a progressive purification of forms, their content and their density. His pictorial approach is at the crossroads of critical play and the intimate.

One of the striking characteristics of his work is the “ANDROGRAPHIC” line. Like a fisherman casting his lure, Ségura draws a line which sketches the contours of the bodies, favors the junction of improbable anatomical points and delimits the field of the drawing with a continuous line. This exploration leads to ambiguous representations, often close to parody, where the moving characters in upset poses reveal a certain apparently happy disillusionment.

Ségura's scenes, whether drawn or painted, appear more like graphic mind games than realistic representations. They mix the intimate with the anagram, offering an interpretation that is as critical as it is playful. His andrographic work transforms the "pictorial figure" into a set of substitutive, often enigmatic figures.

Through his works, Lucien Ségura invites us to discover “character-languages”, characteristic of his formal research. He prints his dreams and shares them brilliantly, revealing a constantly renewed creativity.
