Lloyd Gill is a painter, sculptor, and photographer. His work is influenced by abstract expressionists including; Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Matta, and Surrealism Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, Paul Klee, and Georgio de Chirico.
His paintings use the technique of "automatism" and move a lot into abstraction. He likes it when people have to work hard to see things that other people miss. He wants people to use their imaginations to think about what they see in his work and come up with their own ideas about what it is.
Lloyd Gill is born in 1979 and he works and lives in Weston-super-mare (UK). He graduated in Fine Art BA from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff (UK). His work has received many prizes: Harry Walker RWA Memorial Young Artist Prize in 2002, Governor’s prize Hans Price Gallery in 1999… His work has been exhibited in many art galleries.
