Lionel Morateur développe une œuvre résolument baroque relevant de l'art digital. Il revisite les grands thèmes entre mythes et paraboles. Mettant en scène un univers sur le fil du rasoir, ou démesure et outrance laissent la place à de multiples niveaux de lecture.
Cette œuvre, interprétation moderne du mythe ancien de Charybde et Scylla, transporte le spectateur dans un monde où la nature se révèle à la fois magnifique et menaçante.
L'oeuvre capture un moment de tension extrême : les vagues tumultueuses, empreintes d'une énergie féroce, semblent prêtes à engloutir tout sur leur passage, témoignant de la voracité de Charybde. Tandis que cette scène dramatique se déploie en bas, le regard se porte vers les falaises imposantes de Scylla, érigées avec une majesté austère. Ces colonnes rocheuses, habilement texturées, semblent presque anthropomorphiques, suggérant la légende où elles abriteraient un monstre à plusieurs têtes.
L'emploi habile de la lumière accentue la dualité de cet univers mythique. Les rayons lumineux percent à travers l'obscurité menaçante du ciel, créant un contraste dramatique entre l'ombre et la clarté, entre la menace et l'espoir.
