Cette œuvre de Lionel Morateur illustre la vision fascinante et inquiétante de R'lyeh, la cité mythique qui émerge des profondeurs insondables de l'océan. Ses structures énigmatiques et cyclopéennes se dressent majestueusement au-dessus des vagues tumultueuses, défiant les lois de la réalité et de la géométrie euclidienne. Les bâtisses gothiques de R'lyeh, d'un vert spectral et luminescent, s'élancent vers le ciel, leur architecture complexe et mystérieuse semble fruit d'une autre dimension.
Au premier plan, des embarcations frêles et téméraires affrontent la mer déchaînée, métaphore de la curiosité humaine confrontée à l'inconnu terrifiant. Les vagues écument, reflétant la lumière surnaturelle d'un ciel tourmenté où se mêlent nuages et pénombre.
