Trained as a visual artist, and a pictorial practice in large formats, Lionel Boscher embarked on an autodidact in photography by exploring alternative film processes (pinhole cameras, toy cameras, Afghan box camera...) since 1995.
Various trips to the countries of the Arab world and in particular to Morocco in the High Atlas confirm the interest shown in encounters and medium-format portraits.
At a time when digital technology is dematerializing images, there is growing interest in saving the ruins of this photographic substance to which we attribute the alchemical power of preserving life while conjuring up time.
