Il "FIGLIO DEL VULCANO" rappresenta un albero di Corallo di Sciacca che ha origini uniche al mondo, proviene infatti dall'Isola Ferdinandea, isola sommersa nel Canale di Sicilia, tra Sciacca e Pantelleria, la cui storia è a dir poco eccezionale. Oggi l'isola Ferdinandea è una piattaforma di roccia che si trova tra 6 e 8 metri sotto la superficie del Mar Mediterraneo a 30 miglia dalla costa di Sciacca (AG), un vulcano sommerso che periodicamente erutta ed emerge.
