Education:
Mey studied Fine Art at JHB School of Fine Art, Music and ballet. She now works predominantly in Oil paint.
Yvette's love for the historical arts led to studying the intricacy of oil painting conservation and restoration under Anthony Keough of Nelson Mandela Art Museum.
Yvette has over 30 years’ experience of painting and selling her art works all over The Lands. Yvette directored her Gallery, Fine art and Antiques and enjoyed the valuable experience in the retail commerce aspect of Fine art and antiques.
Mey has taken part in various group exhibitions throughout S.A.
Private collections: Ken Denton, Paul Kruger house in Limpopo, in Australia, Texas. Various corporations have work in board rooms and offices. In P.E. the Boardwalk has 40 watercolours of indigenous wild life. Sun International has a collection too at Sun City and Cape Town.
God's creation inspires Mey. She says," I want the world to experience this through my works and to see it as it really is and not just arbitrary occurrences. There is such precision, power, life and beauty in the ocean, air, earth and all the beings of our planet. The attention to detail in creation is atomically perfect. Energies and emotions are drawn from each item, be it a stone or a magnificent mountain. I try to capture this elevation or destruction in my art work. I'd like one to understand the depth of the experience of what I paint of that moment."
