Black Garden
This small painting is typical of my work in that it employs a mixture of decalcomania and hand drawn details.
I frequently work with bone black powder which I mix into a wet paste.
This is then brushed onto glossy paper with a broad brush.
I then shape my picture with a palette knife, later adding detail with a fine brush.
Highlights are added in white gouache before finishing with a matte varnish
