PHYSICS AND CHEMISTRY
......Aren’t we always talking about chemistry in love affairs? In the end it’s true and scientifically proven that sex, and even falling in love, is a question of hormones, and physical and chemical processes.
Without eliminating love and fondness between two people, who often will share great part of their lives, this work is about the union of man and woman, as a neutral process, without prejudice, but with an erotic touch.
In this almost ‘DaDa’ assemblage Anne used the electric process, as a current between two opposite poles. She made the woman’s torso from a vintage lampshade structure and manipulated it to an evocative woman’s shape.
The bottle represents the male principle and liquid. There’s some real electricity running through the male into the woman by means of a battery cell and a little lamp.
All materials, except for the cable and the battery, have had a life before and have been recycled.
