My first single lens reflex camera was obtained at a pawn shop. That was when I was about 12. Both as a vocation and an avocation, photography has been a thread throughout my entire life.

For much of my career, I was a videographer. I worked in news, documentary, and commercial production in a wide variety of projects. I also wrote and directed. Still photography has played a bigger role in my life over the last 15 years. In addition to works shown in local galleries, I've also sold some of my work independently.

Except for an occasional photo shoot for several interior designers here in the Portland area, these days I'm interested more in photography as art. 

Those many of my works are "as seen" realism, I do take liberties...sometimes extreme...to extract what I want to convey with a particular scene.

I'm also drawn to monochrome images. Whether they're slightly tinted, or completely black and white, I find that a good number of my images have the most impact with the least color introduced.
