As an abstract expressionist, I also like to consider Dada as one of my inspirations for my work; however with that said, I work in the realm of what I like to call post-Dada. This is for the sake of aesthetics, which unlike the Dadaists, I consider to be of some importance to art. Aesthetics can be sacrificed for the sake of things that are of more importance such as expression but to simply be anti-aesthetic for the sake of being anti-aesthetic is contrary to the nature of art in my humble opinion. To be anti-aesthetic simply for the sake of being anti-aesthetic detracts from art just as much as simply being aesthetic for the sake of aesthetics. I believe that expression should be a priori in art, and aesthetics should be regarded simply as a second order principle. A work ought to be as aesthetically pleasing as what is being expressed, no more, no less. This is the technique that I employ in my art.

I'm a 25 year old American from Massachusetts living in Canada, a student of Sociology at the University of Western Ontario. I'm complex, let's leave it at that for now. There is more about me than I could ever fit in this little box.
