Kateryna Ocheredko is a contemporary artist from Poland whose work is characterized by vibrant colors and graphic expressiveness. She has been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 2012.
Ocheredko works with a diverse range of media, including linocut, silk screen printing, etching, acrylics, and oil paints. In addition to traditional mediums, she also creates digital illustrations, paint animations, and mosaic compositions. Her choice of technique and materials depends on the specific idea she aims to express, allowing for a more expressive realization of her artistic vision.
Throughout her career, Ocheredko has presented nine solo exhibitions since 2011. In 2021, she was honored to receive the "Silver Key" award from the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art. She has also made significant contributions to the world of animation, serving as a painting supervisor and animator on the film "The Peasants," Poland's nominee for the Oscars in 2023. Additionally, she contributed as a painter-animator to "Loving Vincent," the first feature-length animation film painted with oil, which was nominated for the Oscars and the Golden Globe in 2018.
When exploring themes of corporeality, Ocheredko often works with live models to capture their emotions. The sensations generated by the interaction between the artist and the model are translated into color and shapes, adding depth and emotion to her work.
