Sensitive above all to beings and to the living, to the diversity of cultures, I try to transcribe through drawing and painting human and animal sensitivity through the portrait. My pictorial style evolves according to my inspirations of the moment, and according to the universe that I seek to evoke. I don't like to define myself in a particular style, I prefer to let myself be carried away by the emotions that run through me when creating a painting.
The strength of a look, the power of a ;an expression, the emotion that emanates from a face, this is what I try to convey through my paintings.
Many of my subjects are women; I find that they exude an inner strength that inspires me and that they are truly and simply beautiful!
Animals are also represented in my paintings, I like to pay homage to them and highlight the strength of their presence, their beauty and their power.
More personally, as a self-taught artist, painting is for me like a refuge from the real world, a bubble in which limits and frontiers disappear, a moment of pure meditation, where my mind only feeds on colors, shades and curves… Music is also very present in my life, and I like to associate it with each of my paintings. It enriches the visual and the universe of the canvas. As a lover of world music, reggae, jazz, black music, hip hop, these rhythms also greatly influence the choice of my subjects.
My canvases are mainly painted in oil paint, because I appreciate its fluidity and malleability over time. But sometimes I use acrylic, watercolour, spray paint, collages. I may vary the supports (wood, newspaper, fabric, etc.) and mix techniques.
