Juan Manuel Alvarez Cebrian is a contemporary Spanish artist known for his figurative and sometimes realistic style. His preferred mediums include oil, watercolor, charcoal, and graphite, but his passion lies in engraving, which he finds to be an exciting and dynamic technique. He began his artistic career exhibiting in Spanish galleries around 1990 and joined the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid as an art copyist that same year.
Cebrian has honed his skills through painting courses with renowned artists such as José Hernández, Daniel Quintero, and Eduardo Úrculo, as well as engraving courses with José Hernández, Daniel Gil, Paco Mora, and Luis Cabrera. He has also been a finalist in prestigious competitions such as the Ynglada Guillot Foundation Drawing Award in Barcelona and the Antonio del Rincón Drawing Award in Guadalajara. His work has garnered recognition through multiple honors and acquisition prizes, solidifying his reputation in the Spanish art scene.
