I have always liked the expressions of children, I feel as though they have the best expressions. Their joy and pain most times are expressed effortlessly and genuinely and can be felt even through pictures and in this case a drawing. I did not only want to show my technique and mastery as a pencil artist, but also convey emotions leaving the audience captured in a world where this child is.
This child is seen to be in a pitch black background with a single source of light hitting her face, she can be seen staring into the light, hoping, waiting as though for something.
As things get even messier in our nation and perhaps our individual lives, let me leave you with a quote:
