El artista emplea una paleta cromática intensa, característica de su lenguaje pictórico fauvista, con contrastes de azules, rojos y amarillos que potencian la sensación de vitalidad. La composición está dominada por la verticalidad de la emblemática farola modernista y el árbol central, elementos que enmarcan la escena y guían la mirada a través del cuadro.
Las figuras en movimiento refuerzan el dinamismo de la obra: turistas, ciudadanos y transeúntes parecen fundirse en la atmósfera vibrante de la ciudad. La pincelada rápida y gruesa aporta una textura rica y un aire casi gestual, sugiriendo más que describiendo, lo que permite al espectador completar la escena con su propia percepción.
Este óleo, realizado en la década de los 80, evidencia la madurez artística de Curós, quien en esta etapa había consolidado un estilo personal dentro del fauvismo expresivo, con influencias del postimpresionismo y la pintura de vanguardia catalana.
Jordi Curós fue un pintor catalán nacido en Olot en 1930 y formado en la Escuela de Arte de Olot, destacándose como una de las figuras clave del arte contemporáneo en Cataluña. Su trayectoria artística abarcó desde el realismo hasta un expresionismo colorista que rozó el fauvismo en su última etapa.
En los años 50 y 60, su obra se consolidó dentro del panorama artístico español, participando en exposiciones nacionales e internacionales. En los años 80, cuando realizó esta obra, su estilo evolucionó hacia una representación más libre y expresiva del paisaje urbano y mediterráneo, con un enfoque en la luz y el movimiento.
Su trabajo forma parte de importantes colecciones públicas y privadas, incluyendo la Fundació Vila Casas, el Museu de la Garrotxa y diversas instituciones culturales en España y el extranjero.
