Original Hand-printed Serigraphs hand-pulled by the artist. My passion for original printmaking began 30 years ago.
SERIGRAPHY is the earliest recorded original fine art printmaking technique. It has its roots in ancient
China (AD 221-618) where early serigraphers bridged intricate tissue-paper design stencils with human
hairs to illustrate the teachings of Buddha. It is termed an "original" printmaking technique because the original image is actually done on the screen and each impression is hand-pulled individually by the artist (or master printer) and belongs to a signed and numbered limited edition. Each serigraph is an original. And each serigraph is unique retaining its own specific character as inks blend in their own particular way. The technique involves pulling inks across a series of fabric stencils which have been prepared with aqueous or non-aqueous resists to enable portions of the image to emerge. As with any of the other major original printmaking techniques --- etching, lithography, wood-cuts --- a separate pull is required for each color deposit. Each of my serigraphs is hand-pulled by the artist onto archival, acid free rag paper and signed, titled and numbered on the front.

Biography
Jo Moore is a contemporary American artist. She creates an original visual language made up of depth, shadow, and fascinating carved surfaces in order to work as a vessel for relaying a stoic spirit. Moore employs a variety of mediums, including impasto, wax, and pigment, in the goal of eliciting an emotional response from each viewer.
Jo Moore was born in 1954, in the USA. Her works have been exhibited in the USA and UAE.

Artist Statement
Mine is a visual language, employing a visual vocabulary. My gestures remain constant with my perceptions. I believe you must not only see a painting, you must feel it as well. First I sculpt the image…then I paint it. For me, Color is alive. A life-long studio artist, my intent is to think outside the box when it comes to color, perspective, shape. I like to focus on fields of color, rather than details. My heart belongs to expression rather than a duplication of reality. I allow the paint to interpret the dynamics of my subject’s energetic ethos through vibrant use of a rich blended palette. My recent interest in highly textural surface treatments, including the use of chip stone inlay such as turquoise, coral and jasper, lends a sculptural quality to my canvases. All of my canvases are gallery wrapped with painted edges, sealed, acid-free, and archival.

He was born to me from his Mama, Hopi, an Appaloosa...I was the first to crawl upon his back when he turned two...and he lived to be 33. He just wandered around our place like a big dog, even sticking his head in the door when he was lonely...

The tonal variations over blue have a musical harmony. This work reminds me of Philip Glass's music. Akhenaten comes to my mind. You have great creativity. Congratulations Jo Moore.
