This painting captures a moment of deep thought and happy thoughts. It shows a calm woman with closed eyes, as if sunk in a wonderful dream. And nestled in her curly hair is a beautiful, intricate nest filled with colourful birds - each feather is a burst of life, creativity and hope! These birds, about to take flight, show us the amazing power of positive thoughts breaking free and uplifting and inspiring the world behind her. The beautiful, soft curves of the woman's expression show that she is calm and balanced, and it is clear that she has a natural ability to nurture beauty and resilience within herself. Her calm stillness contrasts with the vibrant energy of the nest, creating a beautiful harmony between reflection and action. This is a wonderful tribute to the power of a clear, focused mind. The background is also full of wonderful detail! Billowing clouds seem to float at the edges, gently reminding us of the inevitable hardships and fleeting doubts that life throws at us. But thankfully, a beautiful blue sky makes its way through the grey and claims its space. This is a beautiful visual metaphor for the triumph of positivity over adversity, the persistence of light in even the darkest corners. The warm glow of golden yellows and rich oranges dances across her figure, evoking a deep sense of hope and joy. Cooler greens and enchanting blues in the birds embody freedom and endless possibilities. Mixing warmth and softness, the painting whispers to viewers: life will always offer challenges, but beauty lies in our choice to cherish what uplifts us. It is an invitation to watch your own thoughts take flight.

From his interests in both classical art and modern / contemporary art, Belgian artist Jan Keteleer (JanKé) works with different styles. Ancient art is one of his interests, but you can also find examples of his work in pop art and impressionism. If you browse through Jan Keteleer's portfolio, you will find beautiful nature scenes, painterly images of animals or pop art-based nudes.
After years of working in commercial photography, he turned his interest to artistic black and white photography. Projects such as Speechless, Silent Dialogues and Roots with Taboo brought him fame. He was inspired by the problems of the multicultural society in Belgium, the coexistence of different national and ethnic groups, the issue of the language barrier and the lack of dialogue between the "old" (the native population) and the "new" Belgians (the immigrants).
Today he has devoted himself entirely to digital painting. Using classical techniques such as acrylic and pastel, he creates individual elements that are then digitally brought together and finished.
JanKé attaches great importance to the social significance of his works and integrates them into the context of public space (stations, airports and public transport), prompting the viewer to react and reflect. His projects have received the support of the organization Sprakeloos, which aims to use art to provoke discussion on social issues.
He has had numerous exhibitions in Belgium (in Antwerp, Bruges, Lier, Leuven and Ghent), in the U.S. (in Dallas and San Francisco) and in Poland (in Krakow).
