Jaime O'Ryan is a professional photographer who works in advertising and as a director of photography.
His work, which focuses on the topics of life, landscape, and seascape is distinguished by lighting which differentiates him singularly from the other artists.
Jaime O'Ryan was born in Santiago, Chile, and still resides there. He earned the status of a journalist after graduating. He started Filmocentro in 1973 and works as an advertising photographer from there. Jaime works with the top advertising agencies and clients in Chile, earning a reputation among his peers as the photographer who takes part in the most major campaigns, which go on to win the most coveted honors in Chilean advertising.
Jaime was also a key element in the formation of FOTOP, the Chilean Association of Advertising Photographers, an organization that brings together members of the Chilean photographic offer and of which he is the first president, in 1985. FOTOP is still in business today and is the go-to resource for advertising photography in Chile.
Lobofilms, a commercial production business founded by O'Ryan in 1993, swiftly rose to the top of the most honored firms for its level of commercial productions for television and cinema. For the following ten years, Jaime focuses on directing his own commercials, leaving photography in limbo until 2003, when he returns to it fully.
