Focused on sculpture and photography, Isabel Arocena grew up under the influence of Oteiza, who was closely linked to her family. She trained in the discipline of architecture in Lisbon, Belgium and Madrid. Then lived in Rome to collaborate with the Royal Academy of Spain. During this collaboration she also worked in the cultural office of the Spanish Embassy and later for the UNESCO heritage organisation. During all this time she never stopped creating and exhibiting, until finding in 2020 her greatest form of expression in sculpture. Since 2022 she has been exhibiting all over the world, combining her work in the atelier with the visual work of photography. She is currently based in Madrid.
