I create romantic, dream-like landscapes. Landscape inspires reflection; the journey it took to get where we are now. This place we are in space and time, like life, is only a fleeting moment, a part of a journey itself. The light that touches the viewer, rebounding as it were from subject, to photography, to viewer. The archival pigment prints range from blurry and abstract to sharp, with distinct stripes of organic blues, oranges, reds and even greens and grays cutting across the horizon. The nearly abstracted landscape suggests a veil existing in the realms of mind and spirit, rather than in an outer reality. Horizontal bands within these landscapes are similar to Mark Rothko’s Color Field painting, and evoke similar moods.

The blurry motion creates a kind of unseen temporal reality of our past. A conflation of what was, what is clearly seen and what exists only as a vague presence. These transitory visions of landscape reflect a multitude of realities that we simply remember in a blur. And at times the resulting images catch us unaware as they combine frozen moments in time that transition between multiple fragmented views. These images are a travel through a life story shot from a car window. Through these image I wish to convey that we should cherish our life, that we should be kind to one another, because life is so fragile...We are the ones who create the shape of the world–the outer and the inner. We need to create more of those memorable and meaningful moments in our life so our past won’t seem to be a blur.
