Although we do not realize it, amongst the first sounds that we hear when we arrive to a city are the birds’ singings. In my case, the first that caught my attention just after arriving in Melbourne was a bird couple two meters above me, calmly enjoying a perfect day. There they were, unaware of their importance to me, being the first time in my life that I saw birds like them. Until then, I was ignorant about their existence and I gaze at them as though they were a new species recently created.

I found many other unknown birds in Australia. Others, also living in Europe, surprised me both in nature and the middle of the cities, replete with green areas, inviting birds to explore urban zones.

This artwork shows an old European balcony that resembles a rickety birdcage. I image the great number of birds that could find rest in its structure.

This artwork has been awarded with an “Honorable Mention” in the international photographic competition “Chromatic Awards”, 2017, professional fine art category.

This artwork shows us that getting old does not mean getting ugly: beauty finds its way to keep shining.

Aunque no nos percatemos de ello, entre los primeros sonidos que escuchamos al llegar a una ciudad se encuentran los cantos de los pájaros. En mi caso, además, lo primero que llamó mi atención nada más llegar a Melbourne fue una pareja de pájaros a dos metros sobre mí, disfrutando tranquilamente de un día perfecto. Ahí estaban, ajenos a su importancia para mí, siendo los primeros pájaros que veía de esa especie. Hasta entonces no había sabido de su existencia y los contemplé como si fueran una especie recién creada.

Fueron otros muchos pájaros desconocidos los que encontré en Australia. Otros, también presentes en Europa, me sorprendieron tanto en la naturaleza como en mitad de las ciudades, repletas de zonas verdes que invitan a las aves a explorar entornos urbanos.

Esta obra muestra un viejo balcón que se me asemeja a una jaula desvencijada, en donde imagino la cantidad de aves que podrían encontrar reposo en su estructura.

Obra premiada con mención de honor en concurso fotografía internacional “Chromatic Awards” 2017, categoría Fine Art profesional.

Esta obra nos muestra que hacerse viejo no significa volverse feo: la belleza encuentra su camino para seguir brillando.
