I thought a lot before 'liking' this work versus others, (many of which I also found likable). I reviewed the work on display here and questioned the cliche nature of a woman painting a picture of a female pelvic area sans attire. Itis not a remarkably illusionistic rendering. But I also reviewed the artist's comments and general statement about the goal in her work and found this the most successful among these wood bark images. The concept behind these works is subtle and intriguing, a merging of woman (or women) and environment as both interact with a parity of interest on the artist's part. I hesitate to try to explain further what I see because, as Ivanova's statement suggests, the greater subject in these images occurs at an other than visual and physical level, and I'll get too much wrong and embarrass myself. I'm not easy to embarrass ... and yet i kept finding my eye drawn back to several of her pieces to try to figure out what was the effect this was having on my thoughts about them. So, I urge others to give these careful consideration and see what you think. As for me, I think they are well worth recognition and contemplation.
